Dear Brethren,

Thank God for Vietnam Mission Trip

By the grace and strength of the Lord, we have completed the 3-day VBS programme in the Vietnamese village Church in Phu Ly last week. The village church is a 3-hour car journey from Ho Chi Ming City. Thank the Lord for more than 80 children and youths who came for the VBS. It was a blessed time teaching and learning God’s Word from the book of Daniel in the VBS. There were 4 messages and each message has a memory verse. The children and youths also enjoyed the songs, art & craft and games session. Our programme is from 9am to 4pm each day. Though it was tiring, the joy of the Lord was our strength. We went to the same village Church last year and we rejoiced to see a number of the children and youth who came again this year.

The people in Vietnam need the faithful teaching of God’s Word which is very lacking there. The Charismatic influence is strong and many churches have blindly followed their way. Thank God for the freedom we had to teach the Word of God in Vietnam. We do our small and little part in obeying the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 to preach the Word of God to all nations. May the Lord impress in our hearts that,

“the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few” Matthew 9:37.

Will you be the labourer for the Lord in the big harvest field of souls? Who will go for the Lord?

Thank God for a holiday break in Sapa

After the VBS, we went to Sapa for a short holiday break. To go to Sapa, we need take a 8-hour train ride from Hanoi. Sapa is a beautiful scenic city of mountainous ranges and waterfalls. Many tourists will go there to trek in the mountainous area. The minority tribal people live there. Many are poor and struggle for a living. They would follow us in our trekking and hoping that we would purchase some of their handicraft products. If you have an opportunity, I do recommend you to visit Sapa in Vietnam if you like to see nature.

Looking at the scenic view of Sapa, my heart would exclaim the hymn: How Great Thou Art…“O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed!”

Though there are beautiful places on earth that can awe us, I know that they are nothing in comparison to Heaven that God has prepared for us who are His children, saved in the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us be reminded that this world is not our final home. We must look forward to our Home above that God says,

“Eyes hath not seen, nor ears heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Do you long for your Heavenly Home? Surely to be with the Lord Jesus is far better! Let your life count for the Lord on this earth and give Him your best in everything you do.
