Dear Brethren & Friends,
A warm welcome to Tabernacle BP Church Gospel Worship Service today! Thank you for taking your precious time to be with us and we want to assure you that your time spent with us is worthwhile and meaningful. You may be wondering why your Christian friends persuaded and tried very hard to invite you to Church today. The reasons are that they want you to know the answers to these 2 important questions.
Question 1: Have you come to a place in your life that you know for certain that you have eternal life and that you will go to heaven when you die?
Question 2: Suppose you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?” What do you think you would say?
I wonder what your answers will be for these 2 questions. Maybe you will just shrug them off telling yourself that you will think about it one day in the future. Or maybe you say to me that you have no time for such “eternity matters” as you are already consumed so much by the present and all the things you need to do now on earth.
But isn’t it true that all of us plan for the future? What we do now is really to hope for a better future. Students study hard now to hope to get into a better school. A person strives for higher education to hope for a better career and higher pay. You invest your money now to hope for a better return. Parents provide lots of tuitions for their children to hope for better results in their examinations.
We should pause to ask ourselves why do we not plan for our future when we die and depart from this earth? Is life really the end when we breathe our last breath? Deep in our hearts and if we are honest with ourselves and true to our conscience, we all know in our hearts there is a Higher Being up there. He is all powerful and He is the Creator. Hence, people in every generation, country, race and nationality will try all means to worship and pray to this Higher Being. You can go to any country in this world and you will find human beings searching and doing their best to worship God.
But sadly, their worship of God is wrong as men use their own imaginations and ideas to conceive their understanding of God and the way to worship Him. This is impossible as man can never on their own search and find God. It is just like any of us, ordinary citizens, that we can never on our own way find the President of our country and sit down to have dinner with him. However, if the President comes down to us and makes the effort to eat with us, then it is possible for us to know him.
My friends, God did that when He came down to be born as a human being for us. He is none other than Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He has no sin and lived a perfect life on earth and showed His love and compassion for sinful mankind. Yet the sad truth is,
“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” John 1: 10-11
But Jesus’ love for us never stops and He gave His life on the cross for our sins; the Just dying for the unjust in order that we who are sinners can have our sins forgiven and have eternal life in Heaven. This is truly amazing and divine love that God has shown to us. I pray today that your heart will be constrained by the love of God! Today is the last Sunday of this year 2013. Will we have another year 2014 to live? No one can be certain. Do not delay to find your salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
