Dear Brethren,

Blessed Teacher’s Day!

I like to wish all our Preachers and Sunday School Teachers in our Church a blessed Teacher’s Day in the Lord. This is a good time to remember the good work you have done for the Lord and surely your labour is not in vain in Him (1 Corinthians 15:58). For a small Church like ours, thank God that we have sufficient teachers in our 5 Sunday School classes: Tabertots, Little Ark, Domestic Helper class, Chinese class, Adults/Youth class and not forgetting our Basic Bible Class. I like to encourage every Church member to attend the Sunday School class as we must learn and grow in the Word of God. Sunday School class is not just for children but for everyone!

Give thanks to God for all Teachers in Tabernacle BP Church

The Lord is good to give us Bible teachers who care for us to teach us the precious truth of the Word of God. Let us be thankful to the Lord for all our Bible teachers and also show appreciations to them. How do we show appreciations? I suggest 3 ways :

  • Do not murmur against our Bible teachers
  • Pray for our Bible teachers
  • Listen attentively to the Bible lessons taught by them

I want to put on record my sincere appreciations to all teachers of God’s Word in our Church. Thank God for your faithful labour of love to prepare and teach God’s Word. Some of you have laboured for many years and praise God for your perseverance in serving our King of kings and Lord of lords. Some of you may be discouraged as you do not see immediate fruits and wonder why the students are still not growing in the Lord. Remember Isaiah 56: 11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I accomplish…

An Exhortation to all Bible Teachers

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.” James 3:1

The word “masters” in this context refers to Bible teachers. In this verse, we are reminded of the gravity and seriousness of our responsibility as teachers of God’s Word. Do not take your service lightly as the Bible warns us of the condemnation in the judgment or chastening of God against us. How should we then prepare and equip ourselves as Bible teachers? I like to exhort all teachers of God’s Word with the following biblical principles:

  • Love, care and pray for the students that you are teaching. They must be in your heart to desire them to grow spiritually in the Lord.
  • Be grounded in God’s Word before teaching others. Make sure you do your daily Quiet Time and have a love and hunger to study and know the Word of God.
  • Spend much time to prepare your Sunday School lesson. Make sure you teach faithfully and accurately the Word of God. To teach well, you must pray much through the week before your teaching.
  • Live your life with a good example of what you teach in the Bible. Remember your students learn more from your life than your teaching.

We are not perfect Bible teachers and need to constantly improve and serve God better in each passing week. Look to the Lord for strength and help and give your best to the Lord in your teaching of God’s Word.
