“ I cannot tell how He could love A child so weak and full of sin;
His love must be most wonderful, If He could die my love to win.
I sometimes think about the cross,
And shut my eyes, and try to see The cruel nails and crown of thorns, And Jesus crucified for me.
But even could I see Him die,
I could but see a little part
Of that great love, which, like a fire,
Is always burning in His heart.” (From the hymn, It is a thing most wonderful)
It is really the most wonderful thing to know Jesus and to accept Him as my personal Lord and Saviour. Words couldn’t even describe how thankful I am for His grace and mercies that are fresh everyday. Thank God for this opportunity to share my personal salvation testimony and I pray that you will find it encouraging and edifying.
Acts 4:12- “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
It was through the children’s Sunday School in Kemaman Life B-P Church where I was first exposed to the Word of God. Back then, I would “casually” attend church and Sunday School but stopped attending once I entered secondary school. I would always reject the invitations to attend church, Bible Studies and Sunday School because I thought that it would be a waste of time and that it would not be beneficial to me. I was too prideful and did not want to care about God at all. What I cared about most were my studies and the extra curriculums. I regretted very much in chasing after the wind and the materialism of this world that aided nothing to the soul. “The hours that I have wasted are so many, the hours I’ve spent for Christ so few because of all my lack of love for Jesus..”
By God’s grace and love, He drew me back to Him about 4 years ago. This was when I was attending Bethel B-P Church in Melbourne where I had much spiritual feeding through God’s Word. I truly thank God for the many opportunities of studying God’s Word, attending church camps and fellowship group meetings at that time. He has truly opened my eyes and showed how spiritually blind I was and the need of Christ to save our souls. Before spending the time in reading the Bible, my knowledge of God was nothing and so little, just like a mustard seed. This is not to say that I have a lot of theological knowledge now, because there are so much more things to learn from the Bible. The Lord has also been faithfully watching over me and has not forsaken me even through the many years of straying away from Him. Just like the Israelites wandering around in their sins, God still graciously watched over and provided for them. I was too, wandering around in darkness but the Lord provided abundantly and led me to the light with much gentleness even though I do not deserve it.
I thank God for leading me to Tabernacle B-P Church, as I never would have thought of being here in Singapore. With much prayers and thoughts, the decision was made just about a few weeks before I left Melbourne to come to Singapore. It was not an easy move but once again, God has graciously led and guided me. I pray that the Lord will continue to use me as His servant to serve Him more in Tabernacle and for His glory. As Christmas is approaching, let us be reminded of the blessed hope that He has set for us, let us run the race humbly and patiently together as one body in Christ, onwards and towards the glory of God!
2 Corinthians 6:2- “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
